My son still has accidents at night often enough to where these are worth it. At least for us, I think the pad is way too big for a boy. Boys need protection in the front not the back. With such a large pad the undies still look like a diaper, but slightly less bulky. My solution was to cut the pad in half, tape the cut ends with fabric medical tape and insert. You have to tape the ends otherwise the little absorbing grains get everywhere. The undies are tight enough to keep the pad in place. It won’t protect in case of a super full bladder, but neither would the full pad, since the pee goes out the side no matter how big the pad. These might even be a good solution for daytime accidents for an older boy, who has out grown pull ups. There is no “diaper” sound even with the full pad. Since these are less bulky, pants will fit better. Other kids won’t be able to tell that the child has accidents.I haven’t tried this, but if you have the inserts for cloth diapers, they might work with these. The disposable pads for G diapers worked well with these pants. I’m not sure if they are cheaper option, but I still had lots left over from regular diaper days.
